It's only 2 miles from where we meet now. Sure, I'd try it. :taco:

Same time? On a Sunday at 5pm?

That’s the place yes! Food is great + it’s super close to NEU

view this post on Zulip Sooraj Sathyanarayanan (Dec 09 2024 at 18:30):

We can also do a time earlier for folks who bike to the place so you don’t miss out on sunlight?

I think Sooraj and I would appreciate a changeup in veg options. Hamilton isn't bad imo but I sort of get the same thing all the time.

view this post on Zulip Sooraj Sathyanarayanan (Dec 09 2024 at 19:52):

Yes, Hamilton doesn’t have many vegetarian options.

I usually get the same thing every time - last time, I ordered a meat pasta with no meat, and this time, they didn’t have the Impossible patty, so I settled for the veggie patty, which has less protein. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Again, I picked Hamilton for the proximity to my house, not for the food.

It's looking like we'll go to Mamacita in January. Please go vote for which day at #boston > 2025-01 meetup

So! Any thoughts on Mamacita, especially from the people who came? @Dan @Sooraj Sathyanarayanan @Tanmay Sharma @Dave Hanft

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 13:01):

I was happily surprised that we could hang out at a big table for hours and no one asked us to leave.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 13:02):

I thought the food was great. I was able to get a salad with tasty and spicy stuff on top.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 13:02):

I enjoyed the beer I had.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 13:03):

I think the only downside for me is that it's a 45 minute walk instead of a 5 minute walk.

view this post on Zulip Dave Hanft (Jan 15 2025 at 15:20):

I don't have a frame of reference but here is my $0.02 ...

Pros:
Food Was Pretty Good
Self Service Was Helpful (Loved The Bell)

Cons:
Location Not Ideal (Thankfully Got Lucky With Parking)
Beer Selection was limited would love draft options (The one IPA they had was pretty good)

Also second @Philip Durbin "not being asked to leave" is always great ;-)

view this post on Zulip Dan (Jan 15 2025 at 16:46):

I don't know if someone would ever ask us to leave but next time I think we should pick a table that matches our party size given that it gets busy. I thought we'd have more people.

view this post on Zulip Dan (Jan 15 2025 at 16:48):

Cons: Vibe is not as chill as a pub, beer selection is smaller but good.

Pro: Food, changing things up, cool Dia de los Muertos decor.

I'd want to come back but not every time.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 22:13):

Good point, the decor was nice.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 22:13):

The music too, for that matter.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 22:13):

And yes, the bell! :bellhop_bell:

view this post on Zulip Dan (Jan 15 2025 at 22:22):

Wait is there an old story with a bell? I don't recall a bell on Sunday.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin (Jan 15 2025 at 22:22):

Dave ordered something and they said they'd ring the bell when it was ready.

Yes I made a joke that she might want to consider using a code to distinguish between orders when using the bell. She wasn't having it :joy:

I am fine with going to any location(it's almost the same distance for me), but if I had to choose one I would pick Hamilton (maybe sometimes Mamacita) just because I like walking to Hamilton and it feels a bit different than my usual travel areas.
