Someone from CarGurus reached out to say they are happy to provide space for our group (and food and soft drinks) if we'd like to have an event there. Soon they'll be moving into their new office at 1001 Boylston St. in the Back Bay. What do you think? Is anyone itching to give a talk? That's the kind of thing that's challenging at a bar. :grinning: :beers: Or maybe we could have a hack night?
Anyone have an easy to join project? Oh, maybe we could list a few and vote.
Is the idea that we'd pick a project to hack on?
Yeah in the case of hack night. I guess you were thinking an open hack night. In which case I had some new things I was meaning to try out...
Yeah, whatever is fine. At Boston Python they let people self select into topics like web, data science, etc. But that was quite a large group. Probably 20-30 people.
At the Rust hackathon there were projects that people ran. They invited other attendees to join for the event. I joined one that was really new territory for me but the guy had some dead simple tasks and I was actually able to contribute.
I'd be happy to guide people through something Sandstorm related. But that's just an offer, I'd like to hear what people are interested in as well. Talks etc.
I let Ned from Boston Python know. Maybe they'll have an event first and we can crash it.
Yes, Boston Python is having an event first.
