So! We're thinking about mixing it up in June. What if we go to a free tour of Artisans Asylum on Sunday, June 8th at 3:15pm and then walk over to Charles River Speedway for some food and drink?
I went ahead and got tickets for the tour on June 8th. From https://www.artisansasylum.com you can find the Eventbrite link under "learn". It's called "community events".
I did that and I don't see the tours. Just upcoming workshops. But I went to Learn -> Events Calendar and found Tour under June 8.
That has a different Eventbrite link
I only saw the next tour, too soon for us, but I was able to navigate to June 8th.
Ok! I just updated https://bostonopen.dev with the plan. If anyone spots typos or anything off, please make a pull request or let me know!
So, everyone books their own ticket, right?
Yes, exactly. It's free.
So! I did a little reconnaissance tonight. I went to an event at the Speedway and got the lay of the land.
Somehow I was thinking there would be lots of food options but I'm pretty sure we'll be eating pizza.
There might be more food options when there's a larger event. Not sure.
Any reason you don't want to just link to the specific Eventbrite?
Well, CAN we link to June 8th, specifically? We can link to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/artisans-asylum-public-tour-tickets-677031548587?aff=odcleoeventsincollection but one must hunt around for June 8th.
Yeah this UI sucks but it still takes care of like 70% of the hunt IMO.
I'll use it in my toot at any rate if that's okay. (though I'm not sure what that query string is, it seems to not be required)
Oh, please, go ahead! And yeah I agree that the query param can be removed.

Looks great! Thanks!
Firefox's copy link w\out site tracking is a nice idea, but tends towards the conservative site. Probably would break stuff if it was too aggressive though.
We're mixing it up on Sunday! Going for a free tour of Artisans Aslyum (Eventbrite ticket required) at 3:15pm. Then we'll walk 12-15 minutes to the Charles River Speedway for food and drinks. All the details and maps and such are on https://bostonopen.dev
Hope you can make it! Tell your friends!

Whoops, plus @Nathan Adams (sorry, I always forget the new people)
How is the parking situation around there?
Is it kind of like Brookline?
They have a big parking lot. It's free. Years ago we had kids' birthday parties next door at Jump On In.
https://www.artisansasylum.com/hours-info says "Park anywhere in the Antwerp or Holton parking lots."
Oh wow okay. Maybe I'll need to do move it for part 2.
Hi Philip! I was too late with tickets to Asylum (they didn't have tickets for today) but would be happy to join at the Charles River Speedway. Do you have a time estimate for when you would arrive there?
You sure? You may have to click around to find the date on Eventbrite.

I tried - it doesn't let me click today's date in the calendar.
Bah! What a bummer. I'm not sure how long the tour is. Maybe a half hour or an hour? And it'll be a 13-15 minute walk for us. Hope to see you at the Speedway, @Maria Dolgareva! The earliest we'd be there is 4:15 I'd say.
See you around 4:15 then!
@Maria Dolgareva if it helps, they say the tour is usually 45-60 minutes
We haven't even seen the second building yet
No problem I'll hang out at Mahoney's garden center
